WRRR Indie Artist Video Pick- Young Marco- Love Song

WRRR Indie Artist Video Pick- Young Marco -Love Song

Young Marco Love Banner Video

Young Marco is a performer, singer, musician, and songwriter that oozes passion with every sound that he delivers. At the age of seventeen, one would suggest Young Marco does not have enough life experiences to create such passion filled, relatable music, but through his musical genius he paints a very vivid visual of the minds of a young boy in comparison of a full life. It suggests that we should listen to our youth more because they have something to say!
At the tender age of eight, having all intentions of being a rapper, Young Marco wrote his first song “In love with my closet”, a trendy song he created with his younger sister. Between the ages of 8-14 Young Marco and his father created several songs and visuals, including his debut single “One Night” that contributed to his local popularity. Impressed by the following Young Marco gained and wanting to take his talents to the next level, Young Marco’s father placed him in Artist Development to assess what else YM had to offer. This would be the beginning of YM’s new direction. In his own words, “I’ve always wanted to sing, but I had to convince my Dad and everyone else first!”
After 1 1/2 years of artist development, Young Marco nurtured his gift and found his voice. With the support of his father, they knew it was time to take things up a notch. Independently, Young Marco and his team began to revise his movement and “get serious!” In 2013, Young Marco began and completed his debut album Tell The World (unreleased) with Grammy-nominated producer Eric Cire. This opportunity allowed his voice to be present and his direction created. It all began to come together!
Several individuals influence Young Marco’s many styles and his simple love of life lessons combined. He finds inspiration ranging from Frank Ocean to Drake, Michael Jackson and The Passengers to Ed Sheeran, who Young Marco respects for his diverse career. These artists have influenced Young Marco into creating his own unique style, which was recognized at a tender age. Quickly noticing his lyrical genius, Young Marco set out to push to new heights and make his dream a reality.
Following through on the enormous expectations he has built up for himself, is a matter of keeping his ear to the music. Staying true to him, this journey now is a means for him to inspire others and send real life inspiration to the generations to follow. “With what I have experienced in my journey….if I can do it….MAN, anyone could, but it’s not for the faint of hearts!” Young Marco knows he is a force to be reckoned with and is ready to show the world why he needs to “Tell The World….I AM YOUNG MARCO!”

HI-FIVE released their first and self-titled album in 1990. The album went platinum and was produced by legendary producer Teddy Riley; it included such singles as “I Just Can’t Handle It” (R&B #10), “I Can’t Wait Another Minute” (Pop #8, R&B #1), and their biggest hit to date, “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)“, which went to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The group was aggressively marketed by Jive and was part of the “new jack swing” sound that dominated much of the early to mid-1990s urban contemporary radio format.HI-FIVE enjoyed some mainstream success and were essentially similar in design to R&B counterparts such as H-TownShaiPublic Announcement, and perhaps most notably, Boyz II Men. The group’s single, “Too Young” was featured on John Singleton’s Boyz n the Hood, the soundtrack from the movie.
HI-FIVE’s second LP, Keep It Goin’ On, came out in 1992. Though not as successful as their debut effort, several tracks from this album, including “She’s Playing Hard To Get” (Pop #5, R&B #2) and the R. Kelly-penned “Quality Time” (Pop #38, R&B #3) got major airplay in East Coast (US) urban markets. In 1993, HI-FIVE emerged with a third album, Faithful, which featured the songs “Unconditional Love” (Pop #92, R&B #21) and “Never Should’ve Let You Go” (Pop #30, R&B #10). “Unconditional Love” was also featured in the multi-platinum Menace II Society soundtrack, and received extensive airplay on urban contemporary stations throughout the summer of 1993 as the movie increased in popularity. “Never Should’ve Let You Go” was featured in the ‘Sister Act 2’ soundtrack. In 2013, the group’s single “Favorite Girl” topped the Top 50 Urban AC charts at #37.

Christopher Williams Too Late Video Banner

Contemporary soul singer Christopher Williams was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. The nephew of jazz legend Ella Fitzgerald decided to become a singer after sitting with his aunt Ella, Frank Sinatra and Count Basie after a show. With talent in his genes and the desire to be a great recording artist, Christopher Williams emerged during the late 1980s, as a recording artist for Geffen Records. He released his debut album, entitled “Adventures in Paradise”, in 1989. The singles “Talk To Myself” and “Promises, Promises” reached the R&B Top 10 charts, and Christopher’s soulful, powerful voice made him stand out among his peers. In 1991, he landed his first acting role portraying Kareem Akbar, appearing alongsideWesley Snipes and Ice-T in the pop culture movie hit, New Jack City. His single from the soundtrack of the same name, “Dreamin’” turned gold and became a #1 single on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks charts. His 1992 Uptown Records album “Changes” featured the hits “All I See”, “Every Little Thing” and “Come Go with Me.” The album peaked at sixty-three on the U.S. Billboard 200 and reached the twelfth spot on the R&B Albums chart. In 1995 the album “Changes” was followed up by “Not a Perfect Man” on Giant Records. This album brought a new direction for Williams; his first album as sole Executive Producer uses elements of reggae, R&B, hip-hop and country. In 2001, after a six year hiatus the album “Real Men Do” was released on the indie label Renegade, receiving rave reviews from Ebony Magazine and many other notable publications.
As Christopher’s career progressed, he continued to make strides in music and acting. After appearing in the movie New Jack City, he became increasingly interested in acting and began to focus on the performing arts in television, film and theater.  In the 1990’s he had a cameo appearance in the popular police drama,New York Undercover as “the singer,” performing “Stranger In My Life,” in the episode entitled “The Shooter.” He had another cameo in Gunmen, starring Christopher Lambert and Mario Van Peebles, also singing the “Stranger In My Life“.
He’s also starred in over thirty successful off-Broadway Gospel theatre productions during the 2000s, including “A Good Man is Hard to Find”, “A House is Not a Home”, “Men Cry in the Dark”, and “The Man He Used to Be”.  Williams played a main character in the stage play “The Clean Up Woman”, written by JD Lawrence, and played alongside actress Telma Hopkins and Jackee.
