Preachers Of LA’s Bishop McClendon Says He Was Set Up

The new reality series on Oxygen’s ‘Preacher’s of LA’ has caused quite a stir, especially when two of the ministers on the show, Bishop Clarence McClendon and Deitrick Haddon got into an argument .

theb3.net reports:

Bishop Clarence McClendon wants to clear up two things with viewers of “Preachers of LA”and “partners” at his church.  For one, he was set up by producers on the season premiere of “Preachers of LA” and two, that he does not turn away churches and organizations based on a fee or an inability to pay for his alleged entourage or team.

“What I recognize now is that I was set up to be put in a crossfire,” McClendon told parishioners of his ministry in a video released Wednesday night, shortly after the season premiere of “Preachers of LA.”

According to Bishop McClendon, there were originally no plans to appear during the “Man Cave”segment because he was traveling, but that changed, only after producers told him that they would send a car to pick him up at the airport. That said, when he walked into the room and Deitrick Haddon questioned why he had an entourage of men with suits and bags, he was dumbfounded.

“I realized that I was getting into what the Bible calls an ignorant and foolish dispute,” McClendon says in video below, quoting “2 Timothy 2:23″. “I am not going to allow people to abuse that or malign that for the sake of television…. It’s my son and my assistant who traveled with me and the other guy, carrying the luggage, that was the driver that the producers sent. I didn’t know who he was and don’t know his name to this day. It was obviously a set up.”

As seen on “Preachers of LA,” all of the preachers were captured as they arrived in separate cars alone. Then, Bishop McClendon was captured on camera arriving with several men walking behind him.
